Day 165: Pulled The Bandaid Off

Today is day 165 of Nutrisystem 2.0 and I was awake before 8 am today ! I guess that's a good thing on a Sunday.

Breakfast was 150 calorie pancakes with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie yogurt. I didn't have a morning snack. Lunch was a chef salad and 1/2 of a pepperoni pizza. My "afternoon snack" was 2 scoops of butter pecan ice cream with whipped cream. Story to follow. Dinner was chicken fettuccine alfredo over riced cauliflower. Evening snack was more ice cream. It's my guilty pleasure, I'm afraid.

I went to Walmart shortly after 11 am to pick up a few things for the week ahead. Since my job situation is shaky I'm avoiding Wegman's and shopping at Walmart, which saves me a little bit. I took my bottles back and someone had left a whole bag of beer cans by the bottle return machine. I fed those babies into the machine and made $2.90 ! I washed my hands when I was done and then did my shopping. I picked up produce for the week, yogurt, cottage cheese, another tub of cat treats and another giant bag of dry food for the strays. I also got 2 pepperoni pizzas and 2 tubs of ice cream - one butter pecan and one vanilla. I also got a bottle of Hershey's chocolate syrup and some sugar free whipped cream. I did this because I crave ice cream at times and rather than buying giant sundaes for big bucks I am going to indulge that craving at home in smaller portions !

I got home around 12:30 and spent some time researching HireVue and then finally sat down and did the video interview. I did the practice questions for a long time and wouldn't you know, the questions I was asked were completely different and didn't even pertain to the job I had applied for. I applied to Customer Service Manager III and the site said the interview was for Project Manager. Whatever. I had to make up experiences as the questions were so far off what I expected. I will take whatever job I am offered, provided it pays enough and has decent benefits. If nothing else, this experience prepared me a little bit for the "live" interview I have on Tuesday. I got back my "Insights" report and it seemed to be positive, so we'll see what happens next. My understanding is their hiring manager(s) review the results and then decide who moves on to the next stage of interviews. In reality, I'd really like to get the job with US Bank because it's a huge company, pays well and has great benefits.

So the story associated with the ice cream I had as my "afternoon snack" today is I needed that shot of sweetness before I did my video interview. Some people might have a cocktail .. I chose ice cream ! I;m glad I "pulled the bandaid off" and got the HireVue interview done. I've had anxiety about it since June 7 !

I didn't bother to mow the lawn this weekend as it hasn't grown much. We had a little bit of rain this week but not enough to make the grass or weeds shoot up. I'll mow it some day this week or next weekend. I had a great relaxing weekend in spite of my anxiety over the job interviews. I feel a lot more confident, so we'll see how I do Tuesday. That interview is with a real person on Teams, so I plan to do my hair and wear the same blue top I had on today.

I haven't heard from my siding guy so I sent him a follow up email tonight. I'd really like to get this project going. Hopefully I'll hear from him tomorrow. On that note, I'm heading for bed !
