Day 31: The Best Mixed With The Worst
Day 31 of Nutrisystem 2.0 started at a balmy 7 degrees. It was a struggle to get out of my nice warm bed. Even with the electric heater going it was 66 degrees in my bedroom. Downstairs was 64 and that is pretty much where the thermostat stayed all day. By noon it was zero and the low for tonight is -6 now ! Temps are going to be more seasonal after that, which is a relief !
Breakfast was 150 calorie pancakes with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake. Lunch was a chef salad and 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt. Afternoon snack was 180 calorie cheese & crackers. This snack consists of 10 crackers and a 3/4 ounce piece of cheese. Dinner was 260 calorie roasted turkey medallions. Evening snack started with a 130 calories vanilla ice cream sandwich, but didn't stop there. Total calories for the day are unknown but definitely 1200+. Keep reading !
First workout of the day was 33 minutes in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This workout is getting easier but I do still get a little bit breathless at times. After work I started 14 minutes in Mexico but the circuit breaker tripped and I didn't get to finish it. I made the mistake of running the electric heater and the treadmill on the same circuit at the same time. My evening started to go off the rails not long after. Keep reading !
Today was another really productive work day. I hit the ground running at 8 am and got a lot accomplished by noon. I had my annual performance review and got the highest rating I have ever achieved in my career ! Truthfully, I was not surprised and I would have been very disappointed if my rating was lower. I won't find out about my raise and bonus until sometime in March (which is tradition) but, based on the buildup from my boss, I'm expecting both to be nice !
My evening started deteriorating once the temp started falling. -2 was predicted but it was zero here at noon and falling below zero by evening, so I knew we were in for worse. As the temp outside cratered, so too did the temp inside my house. When it got to 61 degrees inside, I knew I was going to have to move the cats to my bedroom, which they would not like, but it was the best thing for them. I moved all the necessities to the bedroom and we've settled in for a long night of worrying about my pipes ! I have given in to stress eating and brought a bowl of mixed nuts, 2 packages of "thins" cookies and one of the frosted sugar cookies I bought a couple weeks ago. I am worried about my pipes freezing or my heat failing.
