Day 90: The First Milestone
Today is day 90 of Nutrisystem 2.0 ! Officially 3 months since I started back towards my goal weight. I haven't made as much progress as I had hoped, but that is because I didn't work as hard as I could have. I started the day off with a weigh in. I had hoped to drop to 233 or less but the scale still says 234, so I've "only" lost 13 pounds. Honestly, I should have lost that in the first month. The good news is I'm only 2 ounces away from 233 and I'm working harder to stay on track. At this milestone I'm torn over weekly weigh ins vs. monthly. Weekly was demotivating because I wasn't losing, but I wasn't losing because I was cheating too much and not exercising enough. Now that I'm buckling down I may try weekly and see how that goes.
Below are my comparison photos. My hips don't look quite so wide, so I'm finally starting to see a difference.
The side view shows my gut is shrinking. When I was showering last night I noticed that my boobs are shrinking too. I'm good with that !
Breakfast was 150 calorie pancakes with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a chef salad and 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt. I had my afternoon snack of an 80 calorie yogurt and 90 calorie oatmeal cookies after my 3rd workout. Dinner was green beans and a 250 calorie enchilada. I didn't have an evening snack. Total calories for the day are 910. Yep - I'm going back to documenting calories as I think it's important to keep that in sight.
Today's workouts were the remaining 3 in the Italy series ! First up was 23m28s. I put in 21 minutes at 3 mph. After work was 25m36s. Here I put in 23 minutes at 3 mph. Last workout of the day was 21m20s and I started at the programmed speed of 2.2 mph but I knew I could go a little faster, so I put in 20 minutes at 2.4 mph. I was able to go with 3 mph after work (and before dinner!) only because I never ate my pizza melt until after 5 pm. That fueled my workout. I did my third workout after dinner, so that kept me going. I was hungry after so I ended up having a yogurt & oatmeal cookies - basically my afternoon snack ! I'm proud of the effort I'm putting in and the progress I'm making. Today I logged 70m24s plus 18 minutes of warm ups and cool downs, for a grand total of 88m24s. I will take it !
I feel like I'm finally in the place I need to be in order to be successful with my diet & exercise goals. Even my feet are better today ! I finally figured out that I need to pad the toe NEXT to the baby toe. How did I come to this conclusion ? Well, the trouble all started with the nail from the baby toe rubbing on the toe next to it. I finally thought about that last night and decided that today I would not pad the baby toe, I would pad the toe next to it. Well, let me tell you - NO PAIN ! I knew the second I put my treadmill shoes on that this was the solution. Getting through my first workout without even thinking about the toe proved the point. Up to now I had pain regardless of the padding I used. I'm glad to finally have that figured out and I hope it continues to be the solution. I've suffered for weeks with this stupid toe and I was blaming the problem on my shoes. Today was the first pain free day and when I took my shoes off there were no signs of irritation or rubbing. I am SO glad to have finally found a solution. It has been bothering me every single day and really made it hard to enjoy my workouts.
Work was more productive today ! I'm still waiting on a lot of stuff but once all the April bills come out I'll be closing a bunch of projects. I didn't have time to work on any of the tedious stuff I've been avoiding, so maybe tomorrow will be the day ! I got 3 new items from my boss today but 2 of them were duplicates, so hopefully she can dig up some more for me tomorrow.
The day started off rainy but by 11 it had pretty much stopped, so I put out my trash & recyclables. We didn't see the sun today and from the looks of the forecast we won't be seeing much of it for the next couple days as we have some rain on the way. I guess it's making up for all the snow we didn't get ! Sunday looks to be high 50's and sunny so we might get to spend some time outdoors for Easter Sunday at my sister's house.
Today was another great day. I was okay (if not thrilled) with my weigh in and progress photos. Work went well. I solved the toe problem and got all 3 workouts in without pain. I checked all the boxes on my schedule. I haven't been keeping to the exact times on the schedule but I'm ok with that as long as I'm getting everything done. I feel like things are finally starting to come together and I am more hopeful that I can get this weight off. I'm not letting excuses get in my way and that has made a difference. The schedule has been a huge help and every time I open it up and see the unchecked boxes from day one I am more determined that there will be no more.
On that note I'm going to feed the cats and head upstairs to brush my teeth and enjoy my nice comfy bed. For once I'm on schedule for bed time (it's 9 pm) !
