Day 94 to 98: The Ride Continues
Today is day 98 of Nutrisystem 2.0 and the weather was beautiful. I spent the entire day working out on the front porch. Tomorrow and Friday are expected to be even warmer so I'll be out there again. Sadly, temps are going back to the 40's on Monday so I'll be back working inside.
Breakfast was 160 calorie waffles. I never got around to eating my yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie chocolate shake. Lunch was a chef salad and 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt. I never got around to my afternoon snack. Dinner was roasted carrots and 220 calorie chicken fettuccine over riced cauliflower. Evening snack was a 140 calorie chocolate cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1020.
First and only workout of the day was 28m4s in Iceland. I completed a 27 minute interval at 3 mph and it felt great ! I didn't work out this evening as I worked a little bit late and then had to walk around the house to take photos for my Friday siding appointment.
While I was out there I cleaned up the winter trash in the yard and hauled away the tree debris. Two large tree limbs were not fully broken off so I had to finish the job with my saw before I could haul them away. I'd like to hire a pro to landscape once the siding is done. My lilacs are half dead and most need to just be cut down. My rhododendron is is good shape so I will keep that for sure. The siding at the very back of the workshop off the garage is in pretty bad shape and the roof is collapsing to the point that it destroyed a window this winter. The kid that quoted me siding on Monday would be able to fix the roof so if I don't go with him for the siding I plan to offer him all the little jobs that need to be done. The workshop needs a new beam (basically all new roof supports) and then the roof needs to be redone. I'd like to just side over the window that is destroyed so I'll discuss that with whoever I choose to do the siding. I think the siding job may be too complicated for this kid and he admitted it would be his biggest job ever. A lot of the wood is rotted and I believe that needs to be replaced in order to attach siding. I'd hate to pay someone who is inexperienced all that money and then have the siding start falling off. We'll see how it goes !
Saturday was a good day. I took a trip to Wegman's and Walmart to restock my produce and cat food. I didn't bring any contraband home and I didn't eat anything while I was out. I boiled and peeled the eggs for my deviled eggs and didn't do much else. Sunday was Easter so I made my deviled eggs in the morning and then spent the day with my family. We had a nice ham dinner and although I indulged a little I did not bring any desserts home, other than some unfrosted sugar cookies that my younger sister made using my mom's recipe. They were delicious and I ate them all when I went to bed. No regrets. Before dinner I had a couple deviled eggs. At dinner I had ham, a small (for me) portion of mashed potatoes with butter, one roll, a scoop of green bean casserole, a tiny spoon of corn and a chef salad. I also had two 1911 hard ciders. For dessert I had a few frosted cookies (3 or 4 I think), a small piece of peanut butter cheesecake my niece made and a small piece of a fruit tart my other niece made. I also ate the little bag of chocolates that my sister used as place settings. It sounds like a ton but it was my morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner and evening snack. Yes, I definitely went over my calories but it was one day.
So I've been off track with my blogging and exercise and my daily schedule since Friday. I don't go by the schedule on weekends but I didn't check all the boxes last Friday. I also didn't check all the boxes Monday and Tuesday of this week and I won't be checking them today. Tomorrow and Friday are up in the air as I have siding appointments both days. So I'm going to just strike this week from the schedule. No reason to stress over nonsense like this. I did complete 2 workouts on Monday but none yesterday. I've been in a bit of a funk again because of work stress, which is mostly self-inflicted. I'm not going to rehash it here, but I woke up at 6:35 am today and told myself I was not going to let anything get in my way. I decided to ignore my email and just focus on actually getting some work out the door. I can't fix everything all at once and when I try to do that I end up floundering and accomplish nothing. In the end I got through a couple of projects that were befuddling me. One I've been struggling with for over a week and I finally had an "aha" moment today and completed most of the work. I spent most of the day working on it ! I will finish it up in the morning and hopefully be able to move a few more projects forward now that this mental block has been cleared.
This evening I spent over 2 hours waiting to chat with jetBlue's customer service, as I made seat changes to my Disney reservations and they didn't credit me for the original seat charges. Since I don't travel often I bought the most expensive seats on the plane. They are called "even more" and you get more legroom. We also get priority security at our home airport (which is useless because our flight leaves at 5 am on a Saturday and SYR will be deserted). The best "perk" is Group A boarding. We're in Row 2 and I won't have to fight for space to stow my carry on. Last year I was pretty much a Karen getting on the plane, because people shove their stuff into the first open bin and whatever doesn't fit ends up having to be checked. My niece is smart - she doesn't travel with a carry on so she could care less when she boards. Me - I was ready to throw down with the Golden Girls at MCO ! We get a carry on at no extra charge so I intend to bring one. I also intend to pack MUCH lighter ! I took so many clothes with me that never got worn. My luggage met the weight requirements but taking less with me leaves more room to bring stuff home .. lol .. and I won't have to put so much stuff in my personal item. Last year I had a checked bag, a carry on, my purse and a large tote bag. Maneuvering the 2 bags and carrying the heavy tote was exhausting. This time around the tote may not even be needed. I do need to buy a new carry on as the wheels on the one I have do not swivel and that makes it difficult to roll. I'm not traveling until December but I'm ready to start packing !
Speaking of packing, it's nearly 11 pm so I need to pack myself off to bed !
