Day 124: Another Week Begins !

 





Today is day 124 of Nutrisystem 2.0 and I woke up shortly before 7 am. It was very light out so I checked my phone to make sure I hadn't overslept. I hadn't - it was 6:34. I'm not used to bright sunny mornings yet !


Breakfast was 160 calorie waffles with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake. Lunch was a chef salad & 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt. Afternoon snack was 80 calorie cottage cheese & 90 calorie oatmeal cookies. Dinner was green beans & a 250 calorie chicken enchilada. Evening snack was a 130 calorie strawberry shortcake cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1130. I also had some of the potato salad I bought on Sunday. Suffice to say it was not very good and the remainder is going in the trash. Yet another craving from Wegman's prepared foods that disappointed. It's sad, because their potato salad used to be amazing.


I didn't get a workout in during lunch because I left the iFit app open on my tablet all weekend and didn't connect it to the charger. I discovered this about 11:40 am and the tablet was at 20% power. I don't have a charging cable long enough to plug it in while on the treadmill so I decided to do some other things during my lunch hour, with the promise of 2 workouts after work ! I made it to the treadmill around 5:08 and completed a tough (for me) hike. I had to hold on for about 3 minutes when I got to the 18 minute mark because 8 and 10% incline at 2.8 mph is still a bit much for me. To offset that a little, once the incline dropped I increased my speed for the last few minutes instead of going with the programmed cool down. Overall, my calories burned exceeded the workout estimate, so I'm happy with my 26m19s effort. Unfortunately, I didn't have the ambition to get on the treadmill a second time so this was it for today.


I had a productive morning at work, running through all the items on my worklist and updating current status. After lunch I moved out to the front porch and started working on the 5 complicated projects I have. I'm happy with what I got done today and it was nice to enjoy a little sunshine !


I got all my vitamins in today but I waited too late in the day to start working on them, leaving me a little nauseated because I took too many at once. One item I do not like is the gigantic multi-vitamin. I'm taking the remains of a bottle of Centrum Silver that my mother had. Once they are gone I'm going back to my One A Day gummies, which never bothered my stomach. I suppose it doesn't help that I also take zinc, iron, selenium, potassium, vitamin E & calcium. The selenium is almost gone and I'm going to stop taking that. It's bedtime now and I'm going to skip the magnesium & Metamucil tonight. Tomorrow I will try a little harder to spread my vitamins out so that I can avoid the evening dump !


Today was a busy day and I didn't have time to ruminate on what I'm doing well or not so well. Sometimes I think it's better to just push on and stop analyzing every little thing when it comes to diet & exercise. On that note, it's bedtime ! Tomorrow is my siding consult and with any luck I'll have a signed contract before the day it out ! Speaking of which, I texted my sister today to make sure the settlement of my mom's estate was on track, since the siding job will take the majority of my savings. She offered to give me my share now but I'm not desperate for it, I just wanted to make sure nothing had come up to delay it. It hasn't and she's going to have everyone over the first weekend of June and she'll transfer the money to our accounts then. After the siding, the only other thing I want to do right away is the new garage door and that'll be a couple thousand. I'll hold off on the basement stairs and a new front door until next year, because I want to keep a cushion in my savings. I do want to put a new cover on the exterior basement entry before winter but all I need there is a piece of plywood and a couple hinges, so I think I can do it myself. We'll see !
