Day 154: Fighting Back
Today is day 154 of Nutrisystem 2.0 and it was a little bit of a better day. We're still being impacted by the smoke from the Canadian wildfires, so the skies remain hazy. It was very smoky this morning and although it seemed to clear a little this afternoon, it is now very dim outside (6:30 pm). Until the winds change direction I think we're going to be stuck with this smoke.
Breakfast was 160 calorie waffles with sugar free syrup. I didn't have a morning snack. Lunch was a 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt. Afternoon snack was 80 calorie cottage cheese & 90 calorie oatmeal cookies. Dinner was 220 calorie chicken fettuccine alfredo over riced cauliflower. Evening snack was A 140 calorie lemon zest cake. I also had a few cookies but I don't think that put my calories over 1200 .. it was finishing the jar of caramels that did that ! Well, they are gone now and I'm not buying any more.
I didn't get on the treadmill today but I did put my sneakers on ! That is a big step in the right direction ! Just before lunch I realized my tablet was dead, so that's pretty much why I didn't exercise at lunchtime. After work I was preoccupied with the job I applied for and reading about the HireVue process. I will commit now to 2 workouts tomorrow !
Work was about the same and not as productive as I'd like. I am gradually accepting that I may lose my job and continuing to take steps to ensure my future. I actually applied for a job at a telcomm company as the job description is everything I already do or have done for years and I could easily slide into that role, provided the pay is $100k or more. To complete the application I have to do a video interview using an online AI called HireVue. I'm reading up on that and plan to do the actual video on Saturday, since they tell you to dress professionally and that means hair and makeup ! There's a lot of info about the process on the internet so I'm going to be reading up over the next few days to prepare. I'm still hoping I get to stay at AT&T but I need the practice of applying for jobs, so it doesn't hurt anything.
Late this morning I went on iFIT's website to clear my scheduled workouts and remembered that I needed to add the 1 year gift card I had bought to extend my membership, which expires in July. Problem is I had no idea where the card was ! I spent my entire lunch hour looking for it ! I looked in every room - living room, my bedroom, the dining room, my office and even the kitchen ! I went through the drawers in my desk twice and only came up with last years gift card ! I even went through a box of papers that are destined for the trash as they have no private info and don't need to be shredded. The last place I looked was my filing cabinet, though I had no reason to believe I had "filed" it. Well, good thing I looked because I found it stuck to one of the many manuals I have for my appliances & other household electrics ! I added the card to my account and it only gave me 1 month of membership, which always happens, so I had to message iFIT on Facebook to have them fix it. They added a year so I actually got 13 months, which helped offset the $95 I paid for the gift card. The extra month is worth $15 ! I'm glad to have that done and even if my income is slashed I still have iFIT until August 2024.
I haven't heard back from my siding guy so my home improvement is still up in the air. On that note, I'm heading for bed !
